the fabric is nice and soft but the gel pad for your wrist might as well be solid, its nowhere near as nice as my older belkin it replaced.I've been using this for about 4 years, now, and it is the only one that feels "just right" to sink my wrist into for softness but yet still supportive. I was having daily wrist pain with computer use and this eliminated all of my wrist pain, never to return. (I do daily computer work. ) Soft with just the right amount of support. The supportive cushion lasts for a few years, but the seaming of the fabric around the edge of the mouse pad does release within the first year; I think they need to used a better glue for longer staying power. But, I have tried many mouse pads with a wrist support and this is the only one I will purchase. Have also purchased for other family members who got relief from wrist pain as well! in conjunction, I also use the Fellowes PlushTouch Keyboard Wrist Rest. If you have wrist pain, both are a game changer in my opinion. Recommend! Please do not stop making this and do not change it!!!I only buy this brand. It’s the greatest. Someone gave me another brand once and there is no comparison. This is soft and the perfect size.The surface area is about 20% smaller than it should be and when an optical mouse drags to the top where the lettering is the drag coefficient increases significantly and very annoying, making that area effectively unusable. I'd return it but had already discarded the packaging. Overall though, it's very functional, just a bit small.This mouse pad is pretty comfortable. The wrist rest is a good soft/firm amount. I've had much harder and some very squishy pads like this. I think this is the Goldilocks approved firmness. I use it all day at work.I also like the backing - just get it a little wet to create enough stickiness to keep it in place.Best one on the market. This is my second one. Original lasted 10+ years but the gel pad cover was getting a bit worn.1st of all, let me preface by saying I have a Prime account so anything over 2 days becomes a test of my patience. Other than that, love the mouse pad. If you do a lot of computer work as I do, then this is a must. I have one of these for each of my computers / laptops. Safety 1st! It will save you much discomfort from unneeded pain. I do notice a difference, when using versus not using. The mouse pad is big enough for moving the mouse around. The mouse moves well on the pad, it does not skip or go too fast. The mouse pad has an anti-slip bottom, so it can adhere to a desk.Just like few other reviewers mentioned, there is a noticeable odor (soft of like dirt). It fades away with time. I had my mousepad for 3 weeks now and the odor is gone. If you are very sensitive to odors and get headaches, maybe try gently dabbing a little bit of unscented fabric freshener to neutralize the odor and place the mouse pad outside on a deck to air out.I think the comfort of this mouse pad is worth over the odor.
